We do what is right, even when this is not necessarily the easiest course of action. We are honest and transparent towards clients, colleagues and third parties. We do not promise results that we cannot guarantee, create expectations that we cannot meet, or advise clients other than with their genuine interests in mind.

Integrity also means: we do what we say and we say what we do. Anyone working with Adverit Legal should be able to rely on commitments being honoured.

At Adverit Legal, we take responsibility. When we make a commitment, we follow through. Whoever takes ownership of a matter, task or project does not wait for someone else to solve the problem, but makes sure it is followed up. When something does not go according to plan, we communicate about it openly and in good time.

Mistakes can happen. Accountability means acknowledging them, learning from them and taking responsibility for finding a solution. We hold each other accountable, irrespective of role or seniority.

We are prepared to set boundaries – for ourselves, towards each other and towards our clients.

We want to assist our clients to the fullest extent possible, but this does not mean that everything can or should always be done. We are prepared to say when an expectation is unrealistic, when an assignment is not right for us, or when a particular approach is not in the client's best interests. Internally, we also respect each other's boundaries.

We believe that sustainable performance is only possible when professional and private life are kept in a healthy balance.

The legal profession is demanding and exceptional circumstances may sometimes require exceptional efforts. However, we do not consider working under permanent pressure to be a sign of commitment or quality. For us, a healthy work-life balance is not incompatible with ambition; it is a prerequisite for continuing to perform well in the long term.

We try to understand before we judge. We treat clients, counterparties, fellow lawyers and colleagues with respect and do not lose sight of the human dimension, even in difficult or contentious situations.

Technology, expertise and efficiency will continue to become increasingly important. Ultimately, however, we believe that trust is built between people. That is why we want not only to be excellent lawyers, but also people with whom clients, fellow lawyers and colleagues genuinely enjoy working.
